How Long Do Christmas Flowers Last in Singapore? Fresh Roses, Trees, Preserved and Soap Compared

by Summers & Winters on Oct 23, 2026

Fresh, preserved and soap Christmas flowers side by side: Snowy Red Roses bouquet, blue preserved rose crystal ball, red soap rose box

The short answer: fresh red roses last a few days in Singapore, and longer with clean water and a cool spot. A fresh Nobilis mini Christmas tree usually lasts 2 to 4 weeks if you mist it every day. Preserved flowers last months, and soap flowers can last a year or more, if both stay out of direct sun and damp.

So time fresh flowers for the day you give them, and choose preserved or soap for gifts that have to wait.

Christmas in Singapore is hot and humid, which is hard on anything fresh. Here is what to expect from each kind of Christmas flower we make, and how to keep it looking good until Christmas Day and beyond. You can see all of them in our Christmas flowers and gifts collection.

Christmas flowers compared: how long each one lasts

Type How long it lasts Care Best for
Fresh red roses A few days, longer with good care Vase, fresh water every 2 days Christmas Eve and Christmas week
Fresh mini Christmas tree About 2 to 4 weeks Mist the foliage daily Decorating a home or office for the season
Preserved flowers and crystal balls Months, often longer No water, no sun, no damp Office gifts, early December visits, keepsakes
Soap flowers A year or more if kept dry No water, no sun, no damp Secret Santa and gifts on a budget

Why December is hard on fresh flowers here

Heat speeds everything up. A fresh rose opens faster, drinks faster and fades faster than it would in a cold Christmas. That is why we send fresh flowers a little closed: they open over the next few days in your home instead of on the delivery van.

It is also why we ask customers to plan delivery for the day they give the flowers. If no one answers, our courier calls the recipient and then the sender, and if neither can be reached, leaves the order at the door with a photo as proof. A bouquet waiting at a warm doorstep loses some of its freshness. Preserved and soap flowers do not mind the wait.

Fresh red roses: making them last past Christmas

For a hand-wrapped bouquet such as Snowy Red Roses, this is how to get the most days from it:

  1. Take off the wrapping and put the roses in a vase of fresh water as soon as you can.
  2. Trim 1 to 2cm off each stem at an angle, under running water.
  3. Change the water and trim the stems again every 2 days.
  4. Keep the vase out of direct sunlight and away from heat.

Flowers set in floral foam need a little water poured onto the foam every day instead. Our flower care guide has the full steps for each type.

Fresh mini Christmas tree: 2 to 4 weeks of Christmas

Our mini Christmas tree is made from fresh Nobilis fir, so treat it like fresh flowers rather than an artificial tree. It usually lasts about 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the room.

  • Mist the foliage with water every day. This is the one habit that matters most.
  • Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from any heat source.
  • Pick the delivery date with care. Trees are delivered from 15 to 24 December, on the date you choose. A tree delivered in mid-December should carry you through Christmas.

Trees are pre-order only. Order by 30 November 2026 for 15% off, taken off automatically in your cart. Pre-orders cannot be cancelled.

Preserved flowers and crystal balls: months, with three rules

Preserved flowers are real flowers treated so they keep their shape and colour without water. Our crystal balls put them under a clear dome, which makes them easy to give and easy to keep. To keep them looking new:

  • Keep them out of direct sunlight, which fades the colour over time.
  • Keep them away from damp places such as bathrooms and kitchens. Humidity can make preserved flowers soft or mouldy.
  • Never water or spray them. Remove dust gently with a soft brush.

Soap flowers: the longest-lasting, and not for the bath

Soap flowers are decorative. They are made from soap, but they are not meant for washing. They do not wilt, and kept dry and out of direct sun, they can last a year or more. Dust them now and then. For Christmas, the Pearl Soap Box is an easy pick. Our guide to soap flowers vs preserved flowers compares the two in more detail.

Which one should you choose?

  • You will see them before Christmas week (a team lunch, a Secret Santa, a year-end visit): preserved or soap flowers.
  • You will see them on Christmas Eve: fresh red roses, delivered that day. For Christmas Day, WhatsApp us to check first.
  • You want the home to feel like Christmas all month: a fresh mini tree.
  • You are not sure when they will be home: preserved or soap, which still look good if they wait a day or two.

Common questions

Can I have fresh flowers delivered a few days before Christmas?

You can, but they will look their best in the first few days. If the gift is for Christmas Day, choose delivery on Christmas Eve, or pick a preserved or soap gift that can arrive earlier. For delivery on Christmas Day itself, WhatsApp us first.

Is the mini Christmas tree real?

Yes. It is fresh Nobilis fir, handcrafted in our studio, from 35 to 65cm tall. Decorations with lights, pine cones and berries can be added. The lights need batteries, which are not included.

What is the same-day cut-off in December?

Order by 12.30pm for delivery between 12pm and 6pm the same day, subject to stock. For Christmas Day, WhatsApp us on 8298 6001 to check first.

Delivery is free to most addresses in Singapore. Surcharges apply for some areas, listed on our delivery page.
